“Waste To Resource Initiative”
On September 27, commemorating the 73rd birth anniversary of the late Mayor Annisul Huq, Annisul Huq Foundation & Green Savers jointly organized the “Waste to Resource Initiative” workshop. Conducted from September 21 to 27 across five schools in Dhaka and Noakhali, this week-long program aimed to educate students on sustainable waste management practices. This initiative reflects to promote environmental stewardship and social responsibility, fostering cleaner and healthier communities through practical education.
The workshop saw vibrant participation from students who eagerly engaged in hands-on activities, learning essential skills such as waste segregation, creating organic compost from biodegradable waste, and crafting creative items like origami from recycled paper and plastic. Their enthusiasm and proactive involvement were truly inspiring, highlighting the potential of young minds to champion environmental change. By empowering students with knowledge and practical tools, we aim to cultivate a generation committed to sustainable practices, aligning with our goal of building environmentally conscious communities.
Through this program, we emphasized that waste is not merely something to discard but a potential resource when managed effectively. Students and their guardians were educated on the importance of proper waste disposal in designated bins and the broader significance of cleanliness in creating pollution-free urban environments. This initiative spreads vision of transforming cities into clean, sustainable & livable spaces through inspiring the kids how to throw & use wastages.
